MANDY & KIAN

MANDY & KIAN

What an amazing wedding by Brandy Angel Photography! She captured this wedding so flawlessly that you can almost feel the salty air and sand on your feet! In an interview with Brandy Angel, Mandy (bride) recapped some of her favorite highlights. Mandy said, “We had vacationed multiple times to Key West and have always loved it and had a great time. We choose the Hemingway House for a couple of reasons…one we are cat people, we have 2 cats of our own and we both were excited to have cats around us on our wedding day! Two we wanted a destination and somewhere tropical…I would say about 70 percent of our guest have never been to the keys, so it was something for us to show them and experience with them! My mom did this little superstition with a cup in the morning…she filled it and flipped it over to keep the rain away. There was a 20% chance, but my day of coordinator asked me to get a tent…I cancelled it Friday because it doesn’t rain often in the keys and when it does it’s like a 10 min shower. Fast forward…we all got ready on time, it was blue skies, hot and beautiful (typical key west). Time to start the ceremony and it was perfect…surrounded by 90 of our favorite people. Couldn’t have gone any better…plus a cat was laying on my dress during our vows so it was everything I could have wanted! We say our I do’s, we take fun pictures, we jumped on the golf carts and take a couple outside spot pictures…still blue skies! Come in to do our entrance…it rains a quick 5 min shower…no big deal, they say a little rain is good luck! Do our first dance to A world with you by Jason Mraz…cut half way through to Suavemente by Elvis Crespo. Time to eat and make some speeches…here comes another rain shower…still not a problem… Then it pours… like buckets are being dumped from the sky. So, you can either let the rain ruin your day or you can embrace it…and by total Khazrai/ Irizarry fashion… we totally embraced! It was like we were all big kids again. The last time I can remember dancing in the rain I must have been 6 or 7 years old. It was so much fun! Dancing in the rain added character! Wouldn’t change anything!”

Thank you to all the vendors that made this wedding so perfect!
